A Grain of Law | RA 11930
Republic Act 11930 or Anti-Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children (OSAEC) and Anti-Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials (CSAEM) was enacted on July 30, 2022 that provides stronger protection on children against those who produce, distribute, possess, and access child sexual abuse and exploitation materials wherein child as define in the law is a person below eighteen (18) years of age or regardless of the age presented, depicted or portrayed as a child.
The law penalizes subscribing, joining, donating to, or supporting an internet site that hosts OSAEC or the streaming or live-streaming of child sexual abuse and exploitation, possessing or willfully accessing any form of OSAEC. Penalty of this act ranges from an imprisonment of prision mayor to life imprisonment and a fine of 300,000 pesos to 20,000,000 pesos.
